bill Posted February 25, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 25, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ok, I've searched, but can't find reference to this, even though I know it has been discussed. I want to get the Heavystar ring for my D-Lux 4. Does anyone know the reference or specification so that I can get the right thing? Many thanks Bill

miami91 Posted February 25, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 25, 2009 Is that a step up ring Bill? Haven't heard of that one. What do you perceive as the advantages over the other known solutions for mounting a filter (Lensmate, Panasonic adapter)? Jeff.

I have dealt with Heavystar before, happily and thought that their name had been mentioned. Regards, Bill

It's several centimeters long, which probably would bother some people, but needs to be to avoid contact with the telescoping lens. It's very nicely made, aluminum with a high quality painted finish (available in black or silver). For those of us nit-picish about appearance and branding, it's also specifically laser engraved with either the LX3 or D-Lux 4 name (ie, although physically identical, they send you one with your particular camera's name tastefully engraved on the barrel). Oh, and E46 filter threads. Jeff.
