Ok, I've searched, but can't find reference to this, even though I know it has been discussed. I want to get the Heavystar ring for my D-Lux 4. Does anyone know the reference or specification so that I can get the right thing?

Many thanks

Bill

Is that a step up ring Bill? Haven't heard of that one. What do you perceive as the advantages over the other known solutions for mounting a filter (Lensmate, Panasonic adapter)?

Jeff.

Hi Jeff,

No, it's the filter mount/adapter that I'm after. I have dealt with Heavystar before, happily and thought that their name had been mentioned.

Bill

Well, for what its worth I have the Lensmate adapter, and like it quite a bit. It's several centimeters long, which probably would bother some people, but needs to be to avoid contact with the telescoping lens. It's very nicely made, aluminum with a high quality painted finish (available in black or silver). For those of us nit-picish about appearance and branding, it's also specifically laser engraved with either the LX3 or D-Lux 4 name (ie, although physically identical, they send you one with your particular camera's name tastefully engraved on the barrel). Oh, and E46 filter threads.

Jeff.
