sfokevin Posted July 12, 2009 Share #21 Posted July 12, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I believe you have the F3.4 APO version of the 135mm lens, Leica coded it for you ? I thought they would only code the F2.8 version. I have a 135/4 Tele Elmar (The newer one without a goggle- but before the APO)... I had DAG add the coding and add some metal to the flange so it brings up the 90mm Frameline without over twist

BTW, the circus shots you posted today, taken with this lens are very nice. Also, off topic I know, how is your Malcolm Taylor "coded" Zeiss 18mm working out ? I would like to get mine coded by Malcolm and would be grateful for your thoughts on coding the Zeiss. Simon - yes, it is the Apo Telyt - and I had to ask Leica very nicely to do the coding and put the 90mm plate on it so it brings up these framelines (makes framing easier for me + I prefer that approach to the "over-twist" technique Jaap advocates...) BTW - this is something that Malcolm could also do - just adapting the current backplate - less expensive than going via Solms... re the Zeiss - it works a treat. I've not used it much as I'd still like to get a lens hood sorted out (I'm not that happy with the screw-in plastic one I'm using at the moment) but the coding worked perfectly. Strongly recommend Malcolm's professional service on this. Thanks for kind words on circus shots. Best

Best Chris, Thanks for the reply and feedback on the Zeiss, I shall now get mine off to Malcolm for coding. With regard to your hood problem do you not have the original bayonet metal hood or is there a reason as to why you do not use it ? RE the 135 APO, when I get hold of one I will indeed send it to Malcolm Taylor for modifying the mount and engraving the 6 bit slots. Thanks again, Simon
