I was planning to place an order for films at 7dayshop.com. But found that the frontpage of 7dayshop has been hacked [as of 1700 GMT]. Though, intriguingly, if you Google 7dayshop and then click on the sub-categories which Google shows, then you will be able to enter the website.

Many of us, those who buy films and other consumables from 7dayshop, should be concerned at this development - particulalry how safe is it to purchase goods using credit/debit cards from 7dayshop.

I would advise AGAINST clicking through to see how it had been hacked. (as I did...)

The webpage automatically sends you a couple of sound files (at least they look like sound files), so goodness only knows what other mayhem could be going on.

i was just being flippant. they did inform me that RVP 50 was on back order once i placed my order but still 6 weeks is a mighty long time....

anyway, back to the topic in discussion... so imho this is a simple hack on the homepage not for any deep malicious or fraudulent intent but just because it could be done due to lax security on the part of the web admins. this will be another notch on the hacker's belt. the details of which, including a mirror of his accomplishment, will be posted to a hacker forum somewhere (not too dissimilar to this) where he'll receive accolades from his peers.

all cc details should (?) be ok as 7dayshop use a 3rd party merchant... but as a current customer i shall still be seeking confirmation from 7dayshop.
