It is very rare to find service nowadays that is courteous and honest. I have been very impressed with my dealing two days ago with Gerry at Kindermann Canada in Markham,

Ontario.

Gerry was extremely helpful, professional and honest with me when I sent in my

summilux- M 35 asph for alignment/repair.

I was not charged for the time he took to look at the lens and the lubrication was free.

That the lens has to be sent to Solms is because of Leica and their QC.

I recommend that folks give their patronage to companies and people that go out of their

was to provide professional and honest service to their customers.

Thank you Gerry.

Gerry adjusted my Noctilux focus cam and said since he can't guarantee it will work on my M8, would not charge. It works perfectly now.

Kindermann has also turned around a few of M and R cameras ,for such things as a CLA ,in a week or less. In one instance, the metering cells on my R9 went and they fixed it in a day so I could take my DMR with me on a vacation. I shipped it there by overnight courier, they fixed it that next day and I had it back the day after. Three days in total including shipping.

A couple years ago, when I was in Toronto to shoot a football game, Kindermann did the ROM conversion to my 400mm F2.8 and 180mm f2 in a day. I was able to drop the lenses off when I arrived in Toronto, and pick them up the next day prior to going down to the stadium to shoot the game. Gerry was away on vacation at the time, I got to meet the other great staff at Kindermann.

I don't think there is any better camera service in the country.

In regards to Fursan's problem, I have been told by Gerry Smith that any lenses that are APO or ASPH need to go to Solms for anything other than simple work. They can only be set up properly on the machines on the production line. This also applies if you send such a lens into NJ.

Regards,

Robert
