stunsworth Posted February 13, 2009 Share #21 Posted February 13, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's always the same, even when you get a picture of the item, many do not belive until it's on the seller shelf. It was also the same when the D2 was about to be launched. On the other hand I've seen two or three photographs of the R10 so far, and at least one of them still had the catch to release the door on the back of an R/9, so I tend to be a bit sceptical <grin>. ErikFive Posted February 13, 2009 Share #22 Posted February 13, 2009 I was just on the phone with Leica and they told me that the announcement is that they´re opening a Leica Bierstube in Solms with free bratwurst and bier for all who purchase more than one of the new lenses. ErikFive Posted February 13, 2009 Share #23 Posted February 13, 2009 Not sure about this, but just checked the prices on the M8.2 and M8 at my local dealer and I think the price has dropped about 1000EUR on both items within the last two weeks. Has this happened anywhere else? I remember that I checked the prices cause a newspaper did a story on the M8.2 safari about two weeks ago, but I might have read the prices wrong then? At least one dealer in Stockholm has extended the special deal that was supposed to expire on Jan 31 until the end of March - effectively dropping the list price for the M8 by approx 1000EUR. I think we can safely say that the M8 is permanently priced at the lower level now - until discontinued (already discontinued?) that is.
