ty sonoma Posted February 12, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 12, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello All- I wonder if someone might know the solution to my problem. I have an M3 but its screw mount is larger than the screw on most standard tripods. Does anyone know how I can modify/alter the mount so that my camera can work on a "normal" tripod? Many Thanks Steve

andybarton Posted February 12, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 12, 2009 You will be better off finding a tripod head with both 1/4 & 3/8 screws, I reckon I bought a Manfrotto table top tripod this morning and that comes with both What sort of tripod do you have? ty sonoma Posted February 12, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted February 12, 2009 Thanks Andy... I have a Manfrotto and Manfrotto ball head. I suppose I could try to find a release plate with the right sized screw. Didn't think of that... D'oh (8(|)
bill Posted February 12, 2009 Share #4 Posted February 12, 2009 Manfrotto (and others) sell a 1/4" to 3/8" conversion bush. You can screw it into the M3 and leave it there. Try Speed Graphic for camera accessories, photographic equipment and materials. Regards, Bill
ty sonoma Posted February 12, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted February 12, 2009 Thanks Bill I found that I can get a 3/8" to 1/4" Tripod bushing from B&H Photo here in the U.S. I believe that is the solutions and at $1.95, an inexpensive one at that! Thanks again!
