Two M8 shots, the first using a old Summicron 90/2 and the second using a 35 Summicron aspherical.

All the best!

Roberto, very impressive.

Thanks for sharing and all the best wishes to you with your new camera.

We look forward for more.

BTW is there any possiblity of posting an original file in the forum? I do not know whether it is permitted or not. Maybe and if possible we may download it from an address you might provide.

They look quite nice. Nice smooth tones and good sharpness. The 90 looks like a interesting lens.

Roberto are these from raws or in camera jpeg. Figured you would asked this question , so I will be the first . Could you give us a little detail . ISO speed and raw processor.

One thing I do notice that on her lips the highlights on many camera's this tends to blow out and there is very nice tone there and held on quite nice. This looks like soft light but it is encouraging

I don't know if it is possible send in Forum the original files. I believe that no possible because too much larges (approximately 11 Mb). My email address is the following

robertoottavi@virgilio.it - Not problem for send by private email some original DNG file.

All the shots in complete automatic setting (time and white balance) and at 160 ISO.

The M8, is not my new camera (not still) but only a test-camera reserved to me.

I think also testing the difference about:

my 50 Noctilux and the new 50 Noctilux 6 bit

my 21 Elmarit preasph and the new 21 Elmarit asph 6 bit

my 28 Elmarit 4° version and the new 28 asph 6 bit

I want also testing all my old Leitz lenses:

Summilux 35/1,4 preasph (sn.1.752.xxx)

Summarex 85/1,5

Hektor 73/1,9

and more.

My best regards (apologize for my terrible english...)

Roberto Piero Ottavi

PS

The next week I think insert a complete M8 test on my on-line magazine Leicapassion free dowloadable at http://www.leicapassion.com

Roberto there is a way to send a raw file also . you can use YouSendIt: The Leader in File Delivery. to upload a raw.

I would love the image of the lady to play with. I know you may get many request but I can process raw files extremely well. My e-mail is guymancuso@cox.net if you would like. I would imagine this site there is a way to put a raw on the sever for memebers to download from.

If someone wants to send me a RAW I can post it so it can be downloaded. Just let me know.

Same with the highlights in the eyes.

Raws must be seen to be believed. The history repeats itself.

The images are magnificent. Perfect. Frighteningly beautiful. Apart from the advanced necessities, generic post processing software respectfully bows in front of them. You simply cannot remove noise or sharpen the image. It would be meaningless.

This is it. Leica finalized the digital photography. And the most important thing is although the images carry a lot of information and detail they do not look as if a big elephant has just stepped over them as we all know is the case with some decamegapixelplus popular brands.

Thank you Roberto.

Guy, I forwarded the images few minutes ago. Please check your mail.

Gee, I'm sorry but I don't think the lip highlight is holding. It looks chalky - almost painted on.
