barnack Posted February 9, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 9, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Like many fellow members I too have missed using my Leica M6. It is a different feeling handling a M6 over the M8. However, the expendiency of using a Leica M8 is wonderful. I enjoy shooting chrome, but would like to know what is the preferred way that members digitize their film.

RITskellar Posted February 9, 2009 Share #3 Posted February 9, 2009 Same as KM-25, only I use the NikonScan software for scanning. Additionally, I use Adobe Lightroom for cataloguing and Photoshop for b/w retouching.
Dan States Posted February 9, 2009 Share #4 Posted February 9, 2009 Minolta scanner, Vuescan driver, scanned in as a DNG negative. Tons of dynamic range to work with before you convert it to jpeg or tiff. I won't go back until they give me full frame. (though the M8 is an outstanding camera!) mindlessdocumentation Posted February 9, 2009 Share #5 Posted February 9, 2009 Yep, the Nikon 9000 scanner is a good way to go. For me there is no "versus" between M8 and film - they are two different and totally viable options. Mac/PC is completely irrelevant.
peter_n Posted February 9, 2009 Share #6 Posted February 9, 2009 Minolta scanner, VueScan software. I finally came around to Vuescan but still don't like the user interface.

If you want your chromes scanned the right way, send them here Bob Korn Imaging Bob uses a Hasselblad/Imacon scanner and the resulting prints are outstanding, even from a 35mm size chrome.
