jbstitt Posted February 3, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am about to buy a G1 and am wondering if Leica is going to participate with micro four thirds lenses or even a body with lenses. I have heard nothing either way so far. Have they completely dropped out of the four thirds consortium? If they want to sell lenses I think they are missing a great opportunity. Anybody know what is going on?

Guest g12 Posted February 3, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 3, 2009 Oh go buy a real camera... ;-) Seriously though, I've not heard much, but I know that there are M-G1 adapters, Sean Reid (http://www.reidreviews.com) has reviews with Leica glass on a G1. marknorton Posted February 3, 2009 Share #3 Posted February 3, 2009 Difficult to see how Leica can add value at a sensible price. The standard Panasonic lens is not at all bad, modest aperture it's true, but there will be a 20mm f1.7 later this year, pobably quite inexpensive (though that is a relative term). Leica has their fingers seriously burned with the Digilux 3, hugely overpriced to start with and they had real problems selling them. In the meantime, Panasonic seem to have discovered they can make their own lenses without Leica's involvement thank you very much, not it's not clear where this relationship is headed. I'm more than happy with being able to put my M lenses on it and, when I'm feeling lazy, the kit lens.
