euston Posted July 13, 2018 Share #17922 Posted July 13, 2018 (edited) Time for a clue. This is a memorial to the victims of an historic injustice. What and where is it? Edited July 13, 2018 by euston
otto.f Posted July 13, 2018 Share #17923 Posted July 13, 2018 Yeah I thought slavery, but would that help me...
euston Posted July 13, 2018 Share #17924 Posted July 13, 2018 These victims endured a form of servitude that amounted to slavery but slavery isn’t the word we normally use to describe it. I wouldn’t go down that road.
mich Posted July 13, 2018 Share #17925 Posted July 13, 2018 Is it a monument to the victims of enforced labour during the Nazi regime?
euston Posted July 13, 2018 Share #17926 Posted July 13, 2018 (edited) No, Mich, it concerns events a century before that. BTW I do like your signature. Edited July 13, 2018 by euston

euston Posted July 13, 2018 Share #17931 Posted July 13, 2018 No, nothing directly to do with that but you’re in the right era.

mich Posted July 13, 2018 Share #17934 Posted July 13, 2018 (edited) The Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum in Bournemouth If I'm right I will post another picture later this evening(found one I had forgotten earlier)) Edited July 13, 2018 by mich
euston Posted July 13, 2018 Share #17935 Posted July 13, 2018 I think you’ve done enough but we’re not in Bournemouth. We are, of course, in the Dorset village of Tolpuddle where this sculpture stands outside the Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum. It was sculpted by Thompson Dagnall in Portland stone and depicts George Loveless, the leader of The Tolpuddle Martyrs, in Dorchester Prison. Well done, Mich! It’s all yours now.
