Indeed it is near Deir el-Medina.

In fact half way in a side valley between the workers village and the Valley of Queens.

Your turn is well-deserved.

You've impressed me, are you an Egyptologist?

Not really, I've just learned how to research in the internet :)

New picture is coming a little later.

Ok, here goes:

What is this thing called?

Hint: This picture is just over 30 years old and was taken by my dad.

I travelled through Europe in a VW Transporter together with two friends some 40 years ago. I get this vomiting feeling of having a serious hangover whenever I see one....as we had on this tour...continuously.

I "inherited" that one when I turned 18. It had a bed in the back - wow did that come in handy :)

Mukurob (naby Asab) - perchance?

You're absolutely right!

It's also called "Finger of God"

Over to you.

For those who don't know and might be interested: The Mukurob is no longer. It fell over in December 1988. Since this part of the world isn't visited on a daily basis the exact date is not known. The incident was reported on December 8th 1988. Some sources claim it fell over on December 4th 1988 caused by a sand storm. Interesting, but not proven to be related, is that there was a rather heavy earth quake in Armenia on December 7 1988. The Nama (a local tribe) claim that the incident marked the end of the rule of the white man. Some white folk saw it as sign that marks the end of their beloved "South West Africa". Namibia gained its independence in 1989.
