I am away from the computer again, so am posting a bit more dificult photo i have with me on the laptop.

The bridge was opened in 1910 and (beieve it or not) carries some 300-500 vehicles per day.

Where is this bridge?

If no one is close to getting it by Sunday I will post an image that might be more recognizable to the masses :D

Madison County! (or, nearer the border between your home state and another?)

Cheers, Ken.

Apologies, Michael - I was referring to your Location info. TX.

On the border between Texas and the state where people used to go about in a surrey with a fringe on top?

Cheers, Ken.

You gave enough clues for me and Google to figure out. :)

Here's the next one. Where are we?

Neal is right again.

For those who don't know the story, Francis Scott Key wrote the Star-Spangled Banner, which later became the national anthem, after witnessing a British naval bombardment of Fort McHenry in 1814 during the War of 1812.

Your turn, Neal.

OK, then in keeping with the historic theme. Name of the instillation, its purpose and its location (state and nearest city)

Dirk, you got it:eek:. Fort Foote in Maryland, one of the defensive fortifications around Washington DC, you have to have been there. The guns are two 15" Rodman Columbiads the one that I'm sitting on is serial #1 and there are three 15" Rodmans at Ft. Mc Henry along with several 8" Rodmans and three 10" Rodmans that were converted to 7" rifles. (Yeah I know I got to get a life. Here's my house last July 4th.)
