Not only am I getting an education (I'd never have read all those pages about Gothic Churches), but one learns to google like never before :p

Interestingly, without the last hints you can just not find the answer by combining all search keys. Or better, it probably is there, but lost between the thousands of possibilities.

I spent hours to remember the place. I always believed I had seen this before.

Now I know, I have been wrong.

Putting "gothic church toulon massif sainte baume" into google led me to

Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume : une ville en Provence

Ever seen the picture before ;-) ?

So, it is Saint Maximin la Sainte Baume. .

Kindest regards

Michael

Congratulations, Michael! You found it. The relics of Mary Magdalen are kept in the crypt - but when I was in Vézelay, in Burgundy, I saw her relics there as wel...

This was fun!

Your turn!

Yes, Marco, I have also learned a lot these last months - when I was in Japan in the spring, I made sure to visit some places I saw on this thread!

I tested if Google would give the answer with a few key-words, but in this case it was a hard one! It is a great church to visit! Very imposing, massive structure in a tiny community that few people seem to visit. We always race by on the 'autoroute' on our way to the Côte d'Azur, but last summer I took an afternoon off from the beach to go and visit this beautiful church.

Cheers,

Frans

Some thoughts:

It is a modern city centre and, to stay in Germany for a while, I'd think of one of the cities that were revamped after "die Wende". Not all German cities have a tramway system. And, to look at the distance in the photo, it has to be rather a bigger city. That would make it Dresden or something like that. But there's a whole strip of new buildings in Berlin, where the wall used to be.

It is Nice , France "place Massena"

Coach

Coach, you're right - it is Nice .

Most people don't know, that Nice now has a modern tramway.

A bit too modern actually.

At least they could have chosen a more "relaxed" design.

Anyway : your turn coach !!!

This seems to be a page out of my memory from Lake Como; I was last there 20 years ago.
