Advertisement Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Hi paga, Take a look here "Do you know the world ?" -- Competition --. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
psquared Posted June 17, 2009 Share #1522 Posted June 17, 2009 Nope, not Japan. Try a different continent. Another hint: these are pretty small guys fully grown. You can compare their size with the sand grains on the stream bed.
Dirk Van der Herten Posted June 17, 2009 Share #1523 Posted June 17, 2009 Your aquarium in Los Angeles! ;-)
psquared Posted June 17, 2009 Share #1524 Posted June 17, 2009 Dirk, You're getting warmer. My (son's) aquarium only has a goldfish, and these fish are not goldfish. They're about the same size as goldfish, however, and they cannot live in Los Angeles in the wild. So, that's a roundabout way of saying it's not Los Angeles. Not too far from the location, though. StS Posted June 17, 2009 Share #1525 Posted June 17, 2009 These could be mating Xibophori, which could be Mexico then. Not sure, though... Stefan
psquared Posted June 17, 2009 Share #1526 Posted June 17, 2009 Not in Mexico. These are peculiar fish that do not live in the sea but they're adapted to highly saline waters inland someplace in California.

vertekijker Posted June 17, 2009 Share #1529 Posted June 17, 2009 Are they grunions? ----------------- Frans
psquared Posted June 17, 2009 Share #1530 Posted June 17, 2009 They're not grunions. Grunions actually live in the sea and spawn on beaches out of water. Mark, you're getting even warmer. There is a different species of the same fish that live in Salton Sea, but these specimen are from a different locale.
