"Do you know the world ?" -- Competition --

Yes, Noriko. The Zwin is a nature reserve on the North-Sea coast in Belgium, famous for birdwatching - part of it lies in Holland. Beautiful place.

When I saw Alan's answer with the name of the sculptor, I typed the name of Barry Flanagan in Google and after a few pages found a picture very similar to mine.

Your turn Noriko!

Exactly! It is Ginkaku-ji.

This sand heap in front of Kannon-den is called "Kohgetsu-dai", or a selenotrope table, which is for admiring beautiful moon light in the subtle and profound world of elegance and beauty. This concept is called "Yuhgen" or 幽玄.

Your turn, now.

Well - unless somebody lives in this city and knows it well, it will be very difficult to give you the city, country, street and I guess name of the old building in the background. Some hints may be in order......

The only thing I have been able to determine was that this locale is not in North America..... There is what appears to be a FIAT dealership sign on the far side of the street and Fiats have not been sold on these shores since the early 1980's. Judging by the other vehicles on the street, the picture was taken much later than that.

Driving is on the right side of the street so, that rules out the UK, old British colonies, Japan etc.

I would guess this is in South America?

Best,

Jan
