Nathan Road (near the eastern entrance to Kowloon Park)? To be honest I just asked Dr. Google. ;)

On these pages he used to be called 'Mr. Google'. Glad to hear he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation, or was it 'honoris causa'?

The things I have learned from this competition over the years... Just marvellous.

Without google this thread had stopped long time ago, people are posting pics from so many obscure places.

On the other hand, it does not seem as people are using google that much. It took some time before someone googled statue and hands and hong kong to find the answer.

Ok, lets keep the Mr.! ;)

This one shouldn't be too difficult...what's the name of the town?

Over to you Jinxter.

That's the trouble with Google - it rather spoils this sort of "competition".

I also figured out (too late) that it was HK but i used another method than consulting Google. I had a look at your website (_very_ nice!) and in the hope that you might have posted a similar photo. But there was none so I thought that I had come to a dead end. Search terms like "big statue two hands Asia" (I had a feeling due to the tree it would be in Asia) didn't bring me any closer. The I went back to your site and saw that you had posted under news/blog that you had recently returned from HK. Another search and then I found what it was.

Thanks for an interesting 'mystery', Brian.

Kind regards

Philip

Even more south than south France... If it helps here is the 100% crop of the sign... (Unfortunately no Leica lens at that time ;))

Right country...but not Catalonia... Swim south!

Interesting: I'm quite sure that 'carrer de esglesia' is catalonian language, in spanish/castillan it would be 'calle de iglesia'.

PS: I just sorted out that the catalonian language area goes as far as Murcia

I guess it should be somewhere between Barcelona and Tarregona
