My wife, Joanie, and I met almost 39 years ago on Como St. on an island off Tampa, later we stayed at the Paris casino across the strip from the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas; now on this 2009 European vacation we just happened to see the play "The 39 Steps" at the Criterion Theatre in Piccadilly Square-- http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/landscape-travel/99132-39-steps.html#post1043908 --and here it all came together--where she had us booked at the Bellagio Hotel in Bellagio, Italy, on Lake Como, with its (long) 39 steps down to the street along the lake. See how far that was by looking at Picture#2 above. Of course, we'll have to spring for the Bellagio next time we're in Vegas. Wow. [ATTACH]234596[/ATTACH] Fantastic. Joanie planned the whole trip on the internet, through six countries from London to Zurich, including all lodging and travel by train. (And Doc Henry--we'll always have Paris!) Great memories--and another one was I wasn't too sure how--or if--my film pictures (taken with new/old camera and lens recently purchased on eBay) would turn out when I got back, but I shot seven rolls and am happy with results.
