Good heavens, your house is well-defended, Neal!

OK, I'll plead guilty, I've never been in Fort Foote and I just googled.

I found that many Civil War forts have almost identical guns, but the foundation plates in your photo betrayed the location.

So here is a photo of our next location.

We are looking for the name of a shrine (bottom right of the photo).

It's lake Ashi with Mount Fuji in the background. The red shrine is called a torii, which is an entrance to a holy place also known as a Shinto. Picture was taken probably from Hakone Town.

My wife and I travelled quite a few times on those trams, Frans. One of my favourite cities because there are districts that are still almost original.

Dear Ken, it is obvious that you know where this is! You are a gentleman, passing the opportunity on to someone else.

Thanks, Frans.

Yes, Ken has the habit of submitting veiled replies where only those who posted the photo know that he knows.....

Beside photography, model trains are also among my hobbies and streetcars have been an area of interest for a long time. Lisbon's trams are famous......

I should have known better and should have followed Ken's example - now, I'll have to dig deep; I am slowly running out of digital material to post.

Will need a little time.....

Best,

Jan

To guess what city this is will be simple. What I need to know though is, what building is in the foreground and more importantly, what is interesting about it?

Good luck,

Jan

At first glance, it looks very similar to the Hiroshima Industrial Promotion Hall, the ruin of which has become a symbol of the A-bomb explosion. The dome looks very much like it. Is that what you are after? The architect of that building was Czech in fact - Jan Letzel.

P.S. I just read the above comments and noticed that Ken has this one nailed as well, but remains reluctant as usual to call it.
