stanoops Posted January 25, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 25, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello I'm new on this forum. I just bought an black paint Leica MP and I'm very tempted to also buy an black paint non asph Summilux 50 (latest version). Meantime I own the limited 50/1.2 hexanon wich is an wonderful lens, very special at f1.2. I dont have experience with the summilux, so my question is : it's worth the sell the hexanon and by the summilux ? I will use it for bw film ( tri-x) and mostly wide open. There is sommebody ho use it both ? Maybe some pictures. Thank you everyone. stan

microview Posted January 26, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 26, 2009 Googling Hexaon triggered: Hexanon-M 50/1.2 vs Summilux 50/1.4 pre-asph - Rangefinderforum.com. Might be worth reading. I recently sold my black paint 50mm Summilux, which was lovely on film and good for M8 too; but I coveted the ASPH and went for it! No regrets... JosefSchachner Posted January 27, 2009 Share #5 Posted January 27, 2009 To extend on that, how is your impression of the sumilux against the sumilux asph? wide open performance mostly (as stopped down they should not give each other much..... I have a 50 sumicron, but consider getting a lux, now the question is really which one?
marke Posted January 29, 2009 Share #6 Posted January 29, 2009 I have the pre-asph Summilux 50, and I love it. Although I honestly don't have anything to compare it to. But I've heard that as far as signature goes, it's the closest thing to a Nocti as you can get. MP and 50/1.4 Summilux pre-asph
