jamriman Posted January 14, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello members, Does anyone have any info on customs fees or tax duties that might be charged on a lens (private sale) from Norway to the US? I can't seem to find any specific info on the web. Thanks!

erl Posted January 15, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 15, 2009 I suggest a call or email to US Customs. They will know exactly what they will charge you.
peter_n Posted January 16, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 16, 2009 If it is a lens for a still camera there should be no taxes. Make sure the seller ships by the Norwegian postal service and not a courier like UPS, FedEx, or DHL. There is a long(ish) thread here about a month old on the subject of importing camera gear into the US. All is explained therein.

robsteve Posted January 16, 2009 Share #5 Posted January 16, 2009 Make sure they also put the country of origin on the waybill. The Noctilux was made in Canada. There is no duty for goods made in Canada because of NAFTA. Robert
