grober Posted January 6, 2009 Share #21 Â Posted January 6, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I loved the Zeiss 25 on my M7 but, reluctantly, sold it when I bought my M8 BEFORE Milich announced all his mods ('cause I just didn't want the hassle.) Â The ZM 25 is a real beauty, both optically and mechanically, which now makes sense, given an extra dime or two for the appropriate Milich mods. fursan Posted January 6, 2009 Share #22 Â Posted January 6, 2009 I have a few zm lenses. none coded. the 21/4.5 on an M8 has been superb for me. The zm 25..not used much as it seems too big to me. the zm 50/2 planar..beautiful lens. the zm 50/1.5 sonnar...sometimes i love it but have not found it enough to replace my lux. Â Regards. sean_reid Posted January 6, 2009 Share #23  Posted January 6, 2009 Yes, good idea, but I like my CV35II very much and do not want to change a winning horse  They're supposed to be identical optically and, in my experience, they are. Still, I hate to give up a good lens myself so I understand. LTM is less hassle though.  Cheers,  Sean
Kittyphoto Posted January 7, 2009 Share #24 Â Posted January 7, 2009 I have 4 Leica lenses and 2 Zeiss: the 21 f/4.5 and the 50 f/1.5. They are great and perform as well as the Leicas so do not hesitate. Â We are in the same boat. 21 f4.5 one of my favorite and 50 f1.5 a bit high contrast but very classic look. Quite nostalgic colour-wise - I'm tempted by the third Zeiss C lens (35 f/2.8 Biogon) but can't really justify it as I have a 35 Summarit. If someone had a silver one I'd swap despite the price difference. Â Do you have the 21 f/4.5 coded? I don't but for some reason have never had any problems. Owing to the lack of speed I invariably shoot it outdoors, not sure if that makes a difference.
