supershang@hotmail.com Posted December 25, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 25, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I found a old model leicavit from a online shop. the description says it can be used on M6. But from the photo they showed, I can clear see it's for M1,M2 and MD. It was made in canada. I am wondering if it really can be used on my M6TTL
Advertisement Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Hi supershang@hotmail.com, Take a look here About an old leicavit. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted December 25, 2008 Share #2 Posted December 25, 2008 Firstly, that's not a Leicavit, that's a Rapidwinder The base for older Ms is different from later ones, so one for an M2 will not fit an M6 or later, and vice versa
supershang@hotmail.com Posted December 25, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted December 25, 2008 thanks man, although it's little bit late (I just ordered). But I've emailed seller for canceling. Hope it would be fine.

Nando Posted December 26, 2008 Share #5 Posted December 26, 2008 Why not email Tom Abrahamsson and ask him if it will work on your M6? He's quite an approachable person and supports his products extremely well. You can find his email on his website. RapidWinder.com Home Personally, if I were to choose between a Leicavit and Tom's Rapidwinder, I'd choose the Rapidwinder as it is made to be extremely durable. The Leicavit is great too sacrifices a bit of durabilty for a nicer form. The Rapidwinder is also much less expensive and one can count on Tom to support it as long as he can. I'm currently saving up for one of Tom's Barnackwinders for my IIIf.
Guest maddoc2003jp Posted December 26, 2008 Share #6 Posted December 26, 2008 According to TomA's homepage (http://www.rapidwinder.com), there are two versions for the M2 made. The older series was a limited edition (only 300 made) and later he made the M2-IXMOO (only 100 made), which also can be used with Leica's re-loadable IXMOO canisters. The other version for M Leica, Rapidwinder classic, fits the M4-2 and newer models.

I bought a Mint black Leicavit about 2 months ago for £300. It's a normal black one, not the glossy one. One of our sponsors, Red Dot, have a black one for £249, which is a bargain, I'd say.
