SDHC cards, class 4 or class 6?

I'm thinking of picking up a 16 GB SDHC card, but I'm unsure if Ultra II's or Extreme III's or Class 4 or Class 6 cards are best. It seems as if a class 4 card would be just fine in my M8.2, would anything faster be overkill?

Class 4 cards write at a minimum of 4MB/s and Class 6 cards at 6MB/s. If you are shooting DNG or DNG+JPG faster is always better. An M8 DNG file is 10MB. Do you want to be waiting for the memory card all the time?

 

Personally, I use 2, 4, and 8 GB 150x Transcend cards. These have a transfer rate of 22MB/s and utilize faster SLC memory vs. slower MLC memory. The maximum size for 150x cards is currently 8GB, so maybe you could reconsider the 16GB option for now.

Fish, I can't speak for the 16GB cards, but am using 8GB Transcend SDHC cards. I have bot 3 of these at Amazon, where they are currently $14.
