Recently bought this cute little compact when I had to say goodbye to my M8. It's really the same as the Leica dlux-4 but you save £150. I think it's pretty good for wide angles and wide apertures, and nice to take out when not wanting to lug around my 5D

Here's a couple I took last Sunday whilst shopping

I absolutely agree with you. The LX3 and Dlux4 is make a close to perfection walk-a-bout camera for travel and candid.

I used in my recent travel to Italy last week (missed the flood by 1 day)...

Taken on a walkabout by the canal in Leeds in sub-zero temperatures. The little D-Lux 4 (LX3) was a joy to have in my pocket along with my hand. It is the perfect walkabout camera.

Another one at Rome... I think that I enjoy this camera more than I do my slr, and I dare say my newly acquired M8.2...
