rick123 Posted October 13, 2006 Share #1 Â Posted October 13, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone, Â The results from this little camera camera can be amazing. Yet I feel it can do so much more than I know how to let it. To increase the level of consistency in the results of my picture taking with the D-Lux 2, I have been experimenting with the settings while I await the much anticipated M8. I notice some of my photos could be better focused and better lit. When not shooting RAW (Apple does not recognize the D-Lux 2 yet) how do you set the camera? 1)P mode?, 2) ISO Sensitivity for light & dark places?, 3)Contrast high or low?, 4) Sharpness high or low?, 5) Saturation high or low?, 6) Noise reduction high or low? Many thanks! Â Rick

carlson Posted October 13, 2006 Share #2 Â Posted October 13, 2006 Dear Rick, Â first of all I agree with Your opinion about the very good results of the D-Lux2. Â I like making pictures with the camera, not with the pc. That is the reason I only take pictures in high-jpg-format in the biggest size. Â Normally I use the "p"-mode. I think it is often better to change the EV-settings. The histogram is a good help. Â In the scene-modes I often use candle-light, that transports the moode in an beautiful way. Â I use spot-focus and I noticed that the results are sometimes bad, when I give the camera to someone else in order to take a picture. Now, before I will give the camera to someone else I switch to "automatic"-mode. Â Â My ISO-setting is generally in "automatic". Â Contrast is standard, Sharpness high, Saturation standard, Noise reduction standard. Â Â Enjoy the D-Lux2! Â Oliver
