worldofphotos Posted December 2, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 2, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am generally happy with AWB performance on DLUX4, but it has a tendency of making red more magenta and also things like brick wall turns more towards red/magenta. Has anyone noticed this behavior and how are you correcting it? Also, share your WB tweaks please.. Advertisement Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Hi worldofphotos, Take a look here Has anyone tweaked WB on DLUX 4?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
symmetron Posted December 3, 2008 Share #2 Posted December 3, 2008 I added 2 clicks in both the blue and green axes. It seemed to help with the magenta/reddish cast for skin tones. However, I only made the adjustments for better skin tones. I wouldn't have noticed or changed it otherwise from the deafult AWB setting.
johnnyj Posted December 3, 2008 Share #3 Posted December 3, 2008 The different "film" settings of the D Lux 4 will provide different saturation and contrast settings for the digital image captured. It might be the increased saturation level of the "Standard" setting that you are noticing. Try playing with these settings, or within the "Standard" setting try reducing the saturation level. Other then that, as was suggested above, you can tweak the color settings for each film mode. Something else that I have noticed is that when using the White Balance adjustment and using a white card I will sometimes get a color caste in the image where if I use an 18% grey card there will be no color caste and the image color will be true.
