It would be interesting to see how the rangefinder, top plate, and upgraded finish were developed and tested. So I do not think a whole-camera prototype exists. I have not seen the factory museum, but I understand that late cameras in it are normally pulled from regular production (even if they may be the first camera of that model produced).
