dhsimmonds Posted November 28, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 28, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) While we are waiting for the R10, can anyone advise if an R to Minolta fit adaptor is available anywhere? I am not sure if it is even possible. It just occurred to me that perhaps I could go on using my R lenses on the Sony A900 24 Mpx body which is getting good reviews right now if you use low ISO anyway. That is no problem for a DMR user! It might be a good test for the R lenses in preparation for the R10!

robsteve Posted November 28, 2008 Share #2 Posted November 28, 2008 Dave: It looks like it might be possible. I assume the Sony is the Minolta AF mount? mounts.htm Leica R - 47mm Minolta AF - 44.5mm EOS EF - 44 An adapter would be half a millimeter thinner than the Leica to EOS versions. dhsimmonds Posted November 29, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted November 29, 2008 Thank you Robert. A very interesting and useful site. Yes the Minolta AF mount is used for the Sony A900. Zeiss are the lens contractor for Sony. A m/f R Leica lens would be an interesting comparison at this full frame resolution. Now to find out who makes an adaptor! wildlightphoto Posted November 30, 2008 Share #5 Posted November 30, 2008 An adapter would be half a millimeter thinner than the Leica to EOS versions. And the same thickness as existing Nikon F to EOS adapters. A critical question is the diameter of the mount.
spylaw4 Posted December 1, 2008 Share #6 Posted December 1, 2008 Dave - for adapters try : Fotodiox or Cameraquest The latter seem to me to be a bit pricey, but they are suppoed to be good. I've had the Fotodiox R to 4/3 adapter and it seemed to be well made.
