marknorton Posted November 25, 2008 Share #4 Posted November 25, 2008 The purpose of this lens is to magnify the image slightly and shift the image up and to the left; the lens is mounted at an angle in the frame and the reason for the chamfered corner is to prevent the corner of the lens protruding above the level of the frame so that it doesn't interfere with the camera when mounted.
