herrfox Posted November 20, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 20, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) i have understood that it is possible to have photos over or under exposed if i use the flash+M or S or A mode. Someone can help me about this problem?i have seen in the instructions the page 42 and i not understand :"available flash range at iso sensitivity..." for example iso 80,in tele 30cm-1,6cm and iso 100,in tele 30cm-1,8cm.The flash light in a photo depends from NG,aperture, and distance. In this table, where is the "aperture"?where is the NG(guide number).how the table in the page 42 can help me?is it possible that with a new firmware,it will be possible to control better the flash?Thank you. Advertisement Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Hi herrfox, Take a look here the d-lux 4's flash!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
herrfox Posted November 20, 2008 Author Share #2 Posted November 20, 2008 i think that it is an error!and the correct values are:1,6m and 1,8m; now i think that in tele with aperture "2" i have a correct flash exposition up to 1,8m,and with aperture "8"i have correct flash exposition up to 30cm(iso 100). and so,with 4,5 i have a correct flash exposition up to 1,11m is it possible what i have writed be correct?is it a good interpretation? Thank you.

herrfox Posted November 21, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted November 21, 2008 or a better choice may be the external flash with indication of the correct range of the flash, in the display, i hope!!!..someone has this flash?is it so?
herrfox Posted November 27, 2008 Author Share #5 Posted November 27, 2008 the guide number of the flash built-in is 6;i tryed to use anhoter flash,(for more light)in auto and slave mode but the photo has the same light ever and so..i have discovered that the flash built-in has a pre-light and the other flash activates with the pre-light.So,the light in the photo is the light of the flash bulit-in,only!..someone know if i can disable this pre-light? i discovered this pre-light,using 10 secs(as shutter time) and secund curtain.I tryed to solve the problem using the AE lock(before shooting),but it is not a Flash exposition lock!:(And so?is there a solution? wmyowell Posted November 28, 2008 Share #6 Posted November 28, 2008 Herrfox, What you need is Wein's HSD or something similar. Go to Safe Syncs What is does is to trigger the slave flash from the actual flash, ignoring the preflash. It works. Bill Yowell
