Advertisement Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Hi like_no_other, Take a look here Nikon SP Digital (21mp) . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
kdemas Posted November 15, 2008 Share #2 Posted November 15, 2008 Being a Nikon rangefinder fan in addition to my "Leica habit" I am pretty confident that is a photoshop job. There are a lot of rumors once again (for about the 10th time) of a Nikon digital rangefinder coming out soon. That said, maybe the link you provided is a quick blurb about that rumor. By the way, the SP 2005 shown there is one of the coolest cameras I have ever held. I have a S3 2000 in black that also is one mean looking little camera. Those Nikons, however, usually sit on nice shelves most of the time as my M8 and film Ms go out the door to take pictures Kent
marknorton Posted November 15, 2008 Share #3 Posted November 15, 2008 I wonder if it's possible to produce a DRF (accepting this may be a fake) which isn't so retro looking?
Guest volkerm Posted November 15, 2008 Share #4 Posted November 15, 2008 Being a Nikon rangefinder fan in addition to my "Leica habit" I am pretty confident that is a photoshop job. Yep. Here is the original image of the SP 2005: http://www.four-thirds.cn/forum/attachments/month_0512/Nikon%20SP%2001_XTMnl9XCHCdt.jpg

adan Posted November 16, 2008 Share #6 Posted November 16, 2008 Well, that Nikon soothsayer (Hogan?) said a 50th-anniversary limited-edition Nikon RF or F SLR digital lookalike is in his crystal ball for 2009. (NB: I haven't even looked at the image yet. I'll take it for granted it's a photoshop fantasy even if Nikon really does have something in the works) As a commemorative edition, the retro look is likely de rigeur. Of course a digital camera doesn't need a rewind knob - but they do need thumbwheels (see the Epson R-D1). No point in wasting the real estate. 21Mpixel seems an odd-ball number for Nikon - most people seem to expect the hi-res full-frame Nikon sensor to be 24 Mpixels like the Sony. 21Mp is a Canon sensor. A 25 Mpixel (5000 x 5000) ROLLEIFLEX reproduction - now THAT I could get sweaty about. (No, NOT the interpolated 5 Mpixel mini-Rollei!!! Please!) andybarton Posted November 16, 2008 Share #7 Posted November 16, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nice to see that they have returned to the cold shoe idea. I can't speak or read Russian, but I can see an obvious fake a mile off
khun_k Posted November 16, 2008 Share #8 Posted November 16, 2008 Nice to see that they have returned to the cold shoe idea. I can't speak or read Russian, but I can see an obvious fake a mile off It looked fake but it does made certain sense, which is also in line with Tom Hogan's 2009 Nikon prediction. I am not the customer of S2, but I do like to Contax T3 type of large sensor digital compact of really high quality to come out. I got the Sigma DP-1 and the image quality is good and camera is compact, but I still feel like missing something else.
mjh Posted November 16, 2008 Share #9 Posted November 16, 2008 The Russian text even mentions that it looks like a Photoshop job; moreover, it shows the original image the fake was based on.
