Please, how can i do to lock exposure independently by the focus? Many thanks! There's no AE lock button as is usual on most cameras, and the only lock you can have is by half pressing the shutter. Your only choice is to put on manual what you do not want to lock at shutter press, so it's either the exposure or the focus, or both if you like going to full manual. The good news is that the LC1-D/2 becomes a faster responding camera ... choose the one that suits better your shooting habits, personally I often go with manual exposure and keep the AF shutter lock. Sorry, guess this is not the answer you were hoping for, but each camera has its quirks, you'll get used to it, and I'm sure you'll enjoy your new camera and its results. Hope this helps. I have to agree with these comments. I shoot Canon professionally, and frankly, I've been lulled into "auto-laziness" by all the whistles and bells. I bought the Digilux 2 because I liked the "idea" of the simplicity... analogue controls.. bring it up to the eye and shoot ... process. It appealed to my so-called creativity. However, in practice... it initially was not the case. I kept having second thoughts... wondering if I was just convincing myself. Well... I can tell you, two months later I find myself shooting with manual exposure and becoming wicked fast with the camera. It's made me rethink my day-job shooting too. It's nice to shoot with a camera instead of a computer. JT
