While we are here discussing the big R , some aspects are a bonus.

Recession = reduction in greenhous gases as in lower fuel consumption lower cost of fuel too as well as that food and consumer goods prices will at least stabilise. Inflation could as well people will

choose neccesary items with quality in mind.

Here it is said people rediscover home cooked meals so obesity problems are better adressed. One problem here is availability of a well trained and willing workforce adjustment is needed.

I am not sure why this discussion is here in the Leica customer forum

the Barnack corner should be the place. As for how it will affect Leica,

products made to last and perform well are exactly the ones in demand.

Good morning, Europe. Euro is down this morning to $1.25, dollar is down to 97 yen.

Means Japanese camera makers will have to cut yen margins just to keep their US prices from rising - and that Leica may be flush with Euros, but may want to consider rebates in the US or Asia to lower those insane prices set during the strong Euro era.

I guess either "yo-yo" or "seesaw" could be metaphors for today's economy, but I prefer "bungee-jumping", myself.
