wstotler Posted November 6, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 6, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi! Couldn't find an answer to this on Google or by searching the forums, so I'll ask directly: Question --------- (A) What is a good lens cap for the CV LH-3 vented hood? (CV doesn't make one, per Stephen Gandy.) or ( Instead of capping the LF-3 should I be trying to get a modern Leica-style "snap cap" (with the two springy "ears") for the front of the lens? (This will fit to the front of the lens itself, inside the LH-3.) or © Don't bother. Nobody caps lenses with vented hoods or the lens inside a vented hood because . . . . (Photo snagged from Cameraquest Web site to show LH-3 mounted on Nokton 1.2.) Thanks! Will

Guest DuquesneG Posted November 6, 2008 Share #2 Posted November 6, 2008 ( Instead of capping the LF-3 should I be trying to get a modern Leica-style "snap cap" (with the two springy "ears") for the front of the lens? (This will fit to the front of the lens itself, inside the LH-3.) That's what I'd do. If you just cap the front of the hood, dust and crap can still get in through the vents.
