usccharles Posted November 3, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 3, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) hi, i'm getting white streaks on my pictures. shooting with a R9. i'm getting these streaks in about 10 pictures for every roll of film i shoot. the other 26 pictures come out with no problems. please advise!! i recently had to send my camera in to get a component replaced in my light meter mechanism. do you think the repair people screwed up somewhere? i'm getting the streaks on the same spot. gone through about 5 rolls and each is the same spot and approx same number of affected pictures... thanks! jkphoto Posted November 3, 2008 Share #3 Posted November 3, 2008 I do not have an R9, so I do not know exactly the type of shutter it has, but, it looks like there may be a light leak on the shutter blades. If so, you might find that the pictures that do not have the problem were taken very quickly one after the other, and that the ones with the problem sat behind the shutter for a more extended period of time. It might be some type of foreign object that got caught in the shutter during the repair?
rob_x2004 Posted November 3, 2008 Share #4 Posted November 3, 2008 Light leak surely, and you arent going to fix it. Who serviced? Email them or Leica customer service with the image.
andybarton Posted November 3, 2008 Share #5 Posted November 3, 2008 Looks like a twisted second blade up on the shutter to me (the R9 has a vertical operating multi-bladed shutter)

lmr Posted November 3, 2008 Share #7 Posted November 3, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Did you try putting a black tap over the rear film window? I had similar issue, but forgot what the streak looked liked. I know if I am out in eth sun, I get a streak. But indoors, I am fine.... Good Luck. Robert.
