Peter, a lovely autumnal landscape with an intriguing title. Why not tell us more?

It would be preferred to have your picture uploaded directly into your thread. It saves getting diverted.

Thanks David,

Well this is an autum landscape from a few day's past and is a scan of a color print made at 300dpi using an inexpensive Canon scanner. The photograph is from my second roll of film that I have put through my newly aquried Zorki 1c and Industar 22, 50mm f/3.5 collapsible lens which is an Elmar copy. I used ISO 400 color film (Waldgreens-I think it's actually Agfa film). Set the shutter to around f/11 and shutter speed to 1/500 second.

I have also made a scan from the original negative using my dedicated film scanner as I am considering making a large print. That's how much I like the image. I know it is not as sharp as those from my M5 and M lenses, but I just love the colors and the lake surface as the wind moves softly over it.

As far as how I finally got the image here well that took me over a half dozen attempts. I originnal used the little click on symbols at the top of the message area. I was able to have the URL or a link to the image placed into my thread. But I could never get the image to open. So I took it all out. Then sometime later I just copied the image into the post and the link worked.

I remember a few years ago that I was able to post images here. but could not do it in the same way last night.

If you could help me out I would like to post more images.

P.S. I have actually been a member since 2005 and my screen name was peter55. But a few weeks ago I visited the Leica site to have a look at the new S2 and the site requested that I join up - again. I thought I would be just renewing my peter55 membership. so I followed the links and ended up joining as Peter58 because it would not allow me to rejoin as Peter55. Now I can no longer post as peter55.

Peter, I'm no expert, but when you open the new thread, at the bottom is an 'Additional Options' panel which includes 'Attach files' . Click 'Manage Attachments' and follow the actions to browse your folders or insert the path to your picture. I maintain a folder on my Desktop holding files for uploading. There are guidelines on maximum file sizes which means that you have to pre-size to meet those parameters. I hope this helps.

Your use of an old lens is a welcome contrast to the endless debates about the virtues of the latest generation of equipment. I still get pleasure from my old M3 and welcome the slow pace of operation that entails. There are several members who post images taken with very old Leicas which illustrates that not all old equipment rests in museums or lofts!

When the forum was changed, somehow my old registration was rolled over. I think that happened during the window of change. I guess had my interest subsided at that time, I would have had to start again! Enjoy your renewed membership. There is a wealth of talent and many really helpful members around.

Thanks David,

I gave your suggestion a try and so here are 2 landscape's from the Zorki 1c and Industar 22 50mm f/3.2 collapsible. These were made as 300dpi scans from the original 4" x 6" print. Still I like them. I also like having actual prints of all my photography.
