parker51 Posted November 1, 2008 Share #21  Posted November 1, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) post an image of the brassing please! ive had an m8.2 since photokina, leica was nice enough to loan me one while they're attempting to get my m8's working correctly (for once, and finally!)  anyhow -- the m8.2 is a joy to use, the framelines, the shutter, the finish, the vulcanite. well the finish and vulcanite are really cosmetic, but the vulcanite is much easier and reminiscent of older leica film bodies.  my only problem has been that I have had 2 shutter failure's with the m8.2. i'm not sure why, but I shoot alot. I am not sure probably 10,000 actuations in the month at least...i was working an event and shooting in discreet mode but on C and had a shutter failure where it rewound at least 5x before showing the beep and message on screen.  i popped out the battery and it was fine, it happened once more similar situation. no bueno. my m8's never had problems like that, although i think i had every other possibly problem.  anyhow that's my 2 cents.  Hello,  Same problem with my M8.2  On the screen : ATTENTION , SHUTTER FAULTS  I was shooting in "discrete" mode I try every thing possible ( battery off for one night ,etc...) It doesn't work. By chance ,my CCL ( photo Suffren , best place in Paris ) gave me another one . After 4 weeks extensive use of my black M8.2 there's brass shining through on the corner just left of the hot shoe. Â That's not especially good news. Some people seem to like it - looks like a worn camera to me though, at least all the black paint MP's I've seen. Â Must be better looking than the current M8 though.
