Mauribix Posted October 31, 2008 Share #21 Posted October 31, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) The actual amout of barrel distortion can be seen here: Panasonic LX3 Lens Distortion. But whatever is troubling alexc is probably due to perspective and quite independent from the camera employed. I second this. And still, despite of the OP opinion, this lens distortion seems more than acceptable for a P&S camera. Michael, I read what you wrote about in-camera correction: do you know if the same correcting parameters were applied in both Leica and Panasonic camera? mjh Posted October 31, 2008 Share #22 Posted October 31, 2008 do you know if the same correcting parameters were applied in both Leica and Panasonic camera? I haven’t done any tests on the LX3 so far, so unfortunately I cannot compare. I suppose there are no differences, though. The general policy appears to be to leave some residual distortion in the image so it stays believable. The results I got with the D-Lux 4 will be published in the next issue of LFI.
