bouledoux Posted October 16, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 16, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've recently purchased a used Visoflex II for my M3. It appears to work perfectly but has an accumulation of dust particles inside that are quite visible in the view. I would like to carefully disassemble the piece and clean out the dust and then reassemble it. I would feel more comfortable having an exploded parts diagram of the piece prior to doing this just in case I get confused upon re-assembly and reverse something or leave out a screw, etc. Does anyone have such a diagram I can get an emailed copy of ??? alifie Posted October 17, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 17, 2008 Where is the dust, the focussing screen is accesible without dismantling anything, if it is in the VF prism just undo all visible screws, do not be tempted to remove the prism (if you have a prism VF) you may chip it, there is a awfully thin end on it. With the covers off the VF blow it out with air. Post a couple of pics I may be able to help more.
alifie Posted October 17, 2008 Share #3 Posted October 17, 2008 And... Take it easy, use tools that fit, take loads of digi pics and notes, don't force anything. And if worried about losing bits do the whole thing is a big (transparent) plastic bag. Use good lighting. The great thing about Leica gear is it is screwed together and designed to be serviced.
