miami91 Posted October 16, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 16, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Have had my D-Lux 4 for three days now. Long days in the office have prevented any outside shooting, but I have taken a few snaps around the homestead. The camera has limitations, but overall I'm fairly impressed. Since many people seem interested in high ISO performance, here are a few images shot at 400, 800, and 1600 in nighttime (interior), dim lighting conditions. As I mentioned in another thread, I think 400 is excellent, 800 quite usable, and 1600 noisy but satisfactory for B/W conversion. These images, although quite pedestrian, provide some demonstration of this. All of these photos were taken in RAW, converted in Capture One with the default profile, imported into Aperture, and then had auto levels (only) and then jpeg export. I then had to further resize them and lower quality to meet the forum limits. They have not had extra NR, sharpening, etc. (some level of NR and sharpening is done by Capture One as part of the RAW conversion, of course). The B/W conversion was done in Aperture via Silver Efex Pro. Jeff. ISO 400 Welcome, dear visitor! rob_x2004 Posted October 16, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 16, 2008 Given the camera originally came out only to a cranky 400iso I gather they have been making incremental improvements that now amount to lot. Throw us some 400iso jpg on highest and lowest settings?
