Was würdet ihr mir empfehlen ? carstenw Posted October 11, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 11, 2008 Hello, and I hope you can read English. I recently had the same question, and spent some time in Meister Camera Berlin, chatting with them about the various bodies. First there is the question of support and maintenance. Although I quite like some of the earlier bodies, they strongly recommended that I don't buy anything older than an R6, because maintenance costs are rising for the early bodies, and a repair can often cost as much as the camera. Secondly, price. The current prices in that store (and Meister Camera Hamburg) are roughly: R6: 750-1000 Euro R6.2: 1000-1500 Euro R7: 750-1000 Euro R8: 600-1000 Euro R9: 1000-2000 Euro If you intend to use the camera with some of the larger lenses, the shape of the R8 is very pleasant, and they are a great deal at the moment. If you just have lenses shorter than, say, 100mm or 180mm (but not the 180/2), then perhaps an R7 is more logical, being more compact. The R6 cameras are a bit special, because they are much more mechanical than the R7, with the R6.2 being fully mechanical, so they fetch higher prices. If you really want that, then this could be the camera for you, but otherwise, the R7/R8 make more sense. If you want to have the possibility of adding a DMR later, then the R8 is of course top choice.
nrj Posted October 11, 2008 Share #3 Posted October 11, 2008 The R6 is also fully mechanical, I bought one recently and they are very nice cameras to use. The main difference between an R6 and an R6.2 is the top shutter speed. The R6 is 1/1000 and the R6.2 is 1/2000.
wildlightphoto Posted October 11, 2008 Share #4 Posted October 11, 2008 The R6 is also fully mechanical Neither the R6 or R6.2 is fully mechanical. The self-timer is electronic. The shutter timing is mechanical.
