jackal Posted September 24, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 24, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) i'm slightly confused will the S2 have the narrower dof characteristics (as in a ~2 stop shift) of medium formta and wider field of view for any given focal length ? (e.g. 80mm 2.8 planar T on a hasselblad is more like a 50mm f/1.4) or will it be just like 35mm ? one of the things I love most about MF is the narrower dof and the great FOV/perspective combinations you get R
Advertisement Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Hi jackal, Take a look here S2 dof and fov characteristics. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
peterv Posted September 24, 2008 Share #2 Posted September 24, 2008 I heard there's a 1.25 factor. So the 70 mm S will have appr. the same FOV of a 50 M or R on 35 mm. The CCD is appr. 50 % larger, so the DOF should be half the DOF on a 35 mm. Hope this helps, Peter
