wildlightphoto Posted September 29, 2008 Share #41 Posted September 29, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I remember that the 21-35 R zoom I had on my R8 and Motor was fine..........but I wanted to use it on an SLmot or SL2mot and I was told (repeatedly) that it couldn't be done. I still didn't believe it but after a while, who do you believe? I was bummed - that was to be my dream outfit. I tried it on an R6.2 but it just wasn't as nice a camera as the SL's......now, if someone tells me it can be done I'll scream! I'm curious, who told you it couldn't be done? Leica said the 80-200 f/4 couldn't be converted to 3-cam but I found that the inner diaphragm ring of this lens has the mounting holes for the cams pre-drilled and tapped. The conversion was easy. Considering the size of all the other digi slr, I suppose the R10 will be a monster too. Considering the size of the S2 we may be in for a pleasant surprise. Leica, Leica, Leica, 3 dealers......something about 'the design had to already incorporate the provision for the 3-cams', then there was, 'you have to remove the ROM contact,,,(fine by me), and, 'who told you that?' (not you) I seem to recall something along the lines of there wasn't room for the inner diaphragm ring. But still, I have not been able to get this question answered to absolute fact. I would think if it can be used on the R bodies it should be usable on the SL2 at least.
