Angora Posted September 23, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 23, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well done, S-team, that's some promising camera you showed us here. A striking yet good detail is that you kept the simplicity as a motto: users don't want to cope with 36.000 buttons, knobs and other levers; you listened to them. But some issues arised from this will: - the aperture rings are missing. A Leica lens (Leica, not Panaleica) without aperture ring?! Personally, I don't use AF lenses, so this is not bothersome to me. But that may rather be disappointing for the others, who may have welcomed this quick, handy ring. - no ISO dial. Again, a quick little device that deserves to be implemented on the incoming R10 (and, say, a S2.2). The back screen? What if we choose not to use it (low battery, don't want to be disturbed by this device, etc.)? The R10 presumably accepting the traditionnal manual focus R lenses (by the way, should we understand that new manual focus lenses will be restricted to the M system?), implementing an ISO dial would remain in Leica's paradigm - that is, being traditionnal within modernity. Apart from a range of, say, 100 to 3200 ISO, the dial would comprise an Auto position for those who prefer the camera to manage this parameter automatically. This would content the AF lenses and other native digital users (in particular). Hoping that you will also keep the shutter dial!
