mickmindless Posted September 11, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 11, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Friends, I would be interested in your opinions on alternative focusing screens for use on the Canon 5D in order to have a proper manual focus that allows to use R-optics: - are third-party screens any good? (Haoda, SLRDaren etc.) - are these screens exactly in the center of the viewfinder? Thanks and best regards Michael
Advertisement Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Hi mickmindless, Take a look here Alternative focusong screens to use Leica optics on Canon 5D. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted September 11, 2008 Share #2 Posted September 11, 2008 I used a Brightscreen and found it a very useful. Be aware that there is a minor exposure issue with the 5D when using Leica lenses - the image becomes progressively over exposed as you stop down the lens - but it's nothing that can't be controlled by dialling in a bit of -ve exposure compensation and shooting RAW.
