hector_jorge Posted September 10, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I`m flying to New York City next week, and I would like to know were can I buy a Voigtlander viewfinder for my D-Lux 3 (If it is possible, at downtown). Many thanks in advance. Hector.
Advertisement Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Hi hector_jorge, Take a look here Looking for a Voigtlander viewfinder. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wparsonsgisnet Posted September 10, 2008 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2008 Hector, go to the B&H site at: B&H Photo Video | Digital Cameras, Camcorders and buy what you want now for pickup when you want.
hector_jorge Posted September 10, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted September 10, 2008 Many thanks, Bill. I will buy my viewfinder there. Hector.
wparsonsgisnet Posted September 10, 2008 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2008 Hector, B&H generally gets high marks. I've bot lots of stuff there and would go to them for this. I expect them to have what you want, and this way you can make sure it will be waiting for you.
hector_jorge Posted September 10, 2008 Author Share #5 Posted September 10, 2008 Another question, please. I`m a little confused about what viewfinder is the best for me. I will like to use it mainly during my holidays (landscape, museums, street shooting). I guess that the best one is 28-35 Brightline mini finder. Do you agree?. Thanks again. daveleo Posted September 10, 2008 Share #6 Posted September 10, 2008 how are you going to attach it to the d-lux3 ??
wparsonsgisnet Posted September 10, 2008 Share #7 Posted September 10, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) The images of the camera on the Leica site don't show a hot shoe. Interesting problem. I guess Hector can buy a hot shoe adapter and glue it to the top of his new camera.
hector_jorge Posted September 10, 2008 Author Share #8 Posted September 10, 2008 how are you going to attach it to the d-lux3 ?? I`m not sure, maybe with double sided tape.
wparsonsgisnet Posted September 10, 2008 Share #9 Posted September 10, 2008 Hector, that's a good solution. I would tie some dental floss around the foot of the finder and anchor that to one of the strap lugs so the finder doesn't get lost if the tape gives up. I use a finder on my D2 all the time. It happens to have a hot shoe, but the same problem exists with your camera -- you need an external finder. Good thinking. Show us some pix of NY. spylaw4 Posted September 11, 2008 Share #10 Posted September 11, 2008 Hector, You might try having a look at this thread. It links to others on the same subject. It really deals with the D-Lux 2 but they are virtually the same as the 3. IIRC there was quite lot of discussion on this topic way back - and superglue was mentioned I think. BTW - I'll be in BsAs just after New Year - fancy a coffee and chat sometime?
