Don't know if this is a similar problem. On my Cron 28 the ring the hood attaches to rotated a small amount - a couple of degrees. I don't think the glass was moving. Turned out the four set screws that secured this ring were too short. Leica USA replaced them but charged me for it since it is not a USA import.

Mine is moving continously...I had a talk with my HK supplier and told me that they will just fix it and not changing it. I don't know what is Leica policy when it comes to that kind problem:( . Any info? TIA

It is, of course, embarassing if a brand new lens develops some kind of fault. In this case, however, it seems as if the front component of the lens (which holds some of the lens elements) simply became loose, for whatever reason. Have you tried to screw in the front part until it stops? Do not screw it in further than until the white dot is in alignment with the aperture numeral. If is not the entire front component which is loose, but only the ring carrying the white dot, then the screws holding this ring have to be tightened. In any case, it is an easy fix, so why should Leica replace the entire lens?

Hope you can resolve this issue soon,

Cheers,

Andy
