dpattinson Posted August 12, 2008 Share #1 Posted August 12, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I create a jpeg from CS3 using the "Save for Web & Devices" tool - I lose all of the exif information and I can't see any way to retain it. Any suggestions?
Advertisement Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Hi dpattinson, Take a look here How to preserve exif with CS3's "Save for Web & Devices" function?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted August 12, 2008 Share #2 Posted August 12, 2008 Convert to sRGB manually and then 'save as' saving the file as a Jpeg?
andybarton Posted August 12, 2008 Share #3 Posted August 12, 2008 The "Save for web" option deliberately strips the EXIF information, but the Save As option keeps it.
dpattinson Posted August 12, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted August 12, 2008 Ah thanks, I was using "save for" for the convenience. Hmm, I just tried converting to SRGB (and thereby flattening the image), but when I choose "Save As" no option for jpeg file type comes up? On a different note - any advice on how I might add or edit exif data in existing jpegs?
Guest roey Posted August 12, 2008 Share #5 Posted August 12, 2008 You also need to convert the image to 8 bits/channel to get the Jpeg option when doing a save as. For editing metadata I'd try Bridge CS3 (File Info command). Don't know how to add Exif to an image, though.
