Please I need advice on 2 problems --

(1) It started a couple of days ago. Whenever I connected my DLux3 to my pc notebook via the USB cable, an error message would come up -- "Device Installer Error : "Windows could not load the installer for volume. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance" After I closed this message and opened my DLux3 4 GB SDHC card by clicking "My Computer\Removable Disk" everything seemed to be fine as always. I could open all the folders on the card and access all my jpg and corresponding RAW files.

For 2 years I had connectecd my DLux3 to my pc via the same USB cable many times. This error message never came up before. At first I thought maybe this particular SDHC card somehow got corrupted. I changed to another SDHC card which also contains previous photos taken with this camera, the same error message would come up yet all folders could be opened and all photos are accessible.

Please what is happening? My computer is running Window xp so I should not need to install any driver. Is it possible the DLux3 was infected with virus? I scanned my computer for viruses but it didn't help. Should I virus scan my DLux3? Is theren anyway to reset DLux3 firmware?

(2) I shoot jpg+RAW. As I said I download them to my computer via USB cable direct from DLux3. There was trouble downloading One particular RAW file. Say it takes 20 sec. to download. At first the downloading seems to run normally -- it says 20 sec remaining .. 10 sec remaining ...etc. But at "5 sec remaining" the process seems to hang although the little animation (of something travelling from one folder to another) keeps on looping. After a couple of minutes it gives up with the message "cannot copy (file no.) : The path is too deep" What does this mean? Is it still possible to recover this RAW file? Unfortunately this raw fileis rath er important.

Many thanks.
